Kiss Mix - 4. Place the filling tube AWe should never take safety for granted. John, a long term customer of Total Supply Solutions found out the hard way in an unfortunate cleaning chemical accident recently. When filling a bucket, he got a small splash (only a drip) of Punch heavy duty floor cleaner in one of his eyes and it destroyed 38% of his retina. He was in quite a bit of pain for some time. These accidents happen far too often and there is a solution! Here’s some tips to help stop this happening to you and your staff.

1. Only use the KISS-Mix closed loop cleaning chemical dispensing system. You and your staff will at no point have any potential contact with the chemical concentrate. It’s the ultimate in cleaning chemical safety. Read the rest of this entry »

Dry Carpet Cleaning 101

By David Blamire
February 19th, 2012

Dry Force Group - Dry Carpet Cleaning Prespray ConcentrateLike everything else in the world today, Dry Carpet Cleaning is on the move! And it’s really important as professional carpet cleaners to keep up with the latest product innovations and technology. If you don’t, you will simply fall behind whilst your competitors take over your clients!

Today we are going to look at Professional Dry Carpet Cleaning, AKA…  ’Low Moisture Cleaning.’ And in particular we are going to run through the 1,2,3′s of the vacuum, spray and machine bonnet absorb method (not so much encapsulation, however, as you’ll read there are similiarities in chemistry). Basically, the way we are cleaning carpets for our clients is by absorbing soils, dirt and chemical up into a highly absorbent bonnet under a machine.

So straight up, it’s important to know and be able to communicate to clients that dry carpet cleaning is not the be all and end all of carpet cleaning. After reading this article, it is our goal that you understand when and where you should use the dry carpet cleaning method as well as how to do it professionally to exceed your clients expectations.

Oil Stains On Concrete? No Worries Mate!

By Chris Blamire
February 13th, 2012

TKO High Alkaline Heavy Duty Cleaner GroupTKO (Technical Knockout) is a massive breakthrough in Extreme Hard Surface Cleaning. It clearly outperforms other heavy duty floor cleaning chemicals in its class, exceeds expectations and even does the impossible!

When Chris put the design to Total’s Wizz Chemist, we call him (Brains), he was challenged and motivated to come up with a clear winner. Eventually, close to field testing he had the breakthrough we were after. A brand new technology raw material, called “If I told you, I would have to kill you!” So when it came to field trials, we already knew we were on a winner. ‘Brains’ gave it a shot for himself on some old oil/grease stains on some concrete at his home. It nailed it, everything else (cleaning solvents & heavy duty degreasers) would only lighten it.

Field trials didn’t last long, TKO was just clearly better than everything else. The reports from the field testers flooded in, all positive! And no-one wanted to buy any of the old stuff off us anymore, when can I have TKO?!

Since then, it has wiped out the need for any of our high alkaline extreme hard surface cleaning chemicals and specialty oil removing chemicals. Even some famous formulas from way back when! It’s just TKO sales now, nothing else.

So what can TKO do for you? Well TKO is an Extreme Hard Surface Cleaning chemical used for shock treatments and oil/grease removal. It’s not for daily maintenance, it’s for sorting your problems out! So click here to check this amazing, mind blowing product out now! TKO Extreme Heavy Duty Cleaner Concentrate

P.S. Handy Tips for oil removal from concrete. Shhhhhhh!

1) Remove excess surface oil/grease with absorbant material (toweling.)

2) Wet the stain with hot water to open the pores.

3) Apply TKO extreme heavy duty cleaner undiluted onto the wetted stain. Scrub in with doodle bug and black scourer or deck scrub brush.

4) Let it Dwell for 5 minutes.

5) Agitate again with scourer or deck scrub brush.

6) Rinse thoroughly with hot water. Bingo!

The King of Carpets: Powerboost and I-Extract Professional Carpet Cleaning Chemicals

By David Blamire
January 21st, 2012

The King of Carpets: Powerboost and I-Extract Professional Carpet Cleaning ChemicalsAre you confused when you rock up to a carpet cleaning job? Which chemical should I use and how should I use it? Like a lot of your peers, you have 20 different carpet cleaning chemicals in the van to select from, all different brands, the bottles all read well, but you have so many because you keep trying new formulas due to poor results from all the other cleaning chemicals in the van!

Confidence is a wonderful thing. Doubt makes for a tough day at the office.

I’d like to focus this article to carpet cleaners using the ‘Hot Water Extraction” method either using a portable carpet cleaning machine or truck mounted setup. This process is also often referred to as carpet steam cleaning. And in particular we will look at the cleaning process for carpets. Easy as 1-2-3! Read the rest of this entry »

Aussie Ownership = Good Decisions + Profits for Australia

Aussie Ownership = Good Decisions + Profits for AustraliaWow! We have been blown away by the support and encouragement we have received after the launch of “The Aussie Factor”. A comittment to bringing to you wherever possible, Aussie Made cleaning supplies, chemicals and washroom products from Aussie owned companies. At Total, we have been in-undated with calls, letters and emails of support, not to mention, increased orders for our products. Your positive comments, feedback and putting your money where your mouth is has been truly amazing and has motivated us to keep bringing it to you.

Due to a large and increasing number of questions relating to the second part of our comittment “Bringing to you Aussie Made Products from Aussie Owned companies” I am writing this article to answer those questions and to share, educate and inform everyone about this very important part and commonly overlooked area of your purchasing.

Australians are beginning to understand the importance of purchasing Australian Made products (and if it’s food, Australian Grown.) It’s for jobs as well as good and acceptable product standards and quality for health and hygiene.

But it’s just as important to make sure they were made by an Australian owned company AND purchased through an Australian Owned company. Read the rest of this entry »

8 Reasons Why Fabric Protection Is A Must For People Who Care About Their Family And Finances

By Chris Blamire
January 9th, 2012

Father and Child's Feet on Carpet that has been protectedWhen you use water based, hypoallergenic fibre and fabric protection on your carpet and upholstery, you will benefit in many ways. Fibre protection is far more than just protection against stains. Here’s 8 reasons why…

1. Creates a healthy indoor environment
The microfilm formed by the fibre protector repels dust mites and allergens, releasing them for effective removal by regular vacuuming with a HEPA vacuum cleaner. Most of the popular fibre protectors will not change the feel or appearance of your carpet and upholstery, nor will they emit chemicals into the air. Many fibre protectors even claim they can help prevent dust mite infestations.

2. Fibres Last Longer
Fabric protectors aid in releasing abrasive soils which damage fibres enabling them to be effectively vacuumed from your carpet. This means carpets and upholstery will not have to be replaced before they should. Replacing carpets is very expensive, that’s why fabric protection will save you money in the long run.
